For the most part, there are 8 ounces in a cup, but that is fluid ounces. In a perfect world, flour would be measured in ounces, and all recipes would give you the weight, because measuring flour by cups can be quite deceptive (flour condenses itself under weight). Anywho, spoon flour into cup (that helps sift it and gives a better approximation of how much flour you need than scooping) and call two cups 16 ounces.

I have exterminated 58kg (127.6lb) in total - 23kg (50.5lb) with Spark people - and 40" total, from my body to date, and reduced my clothes size from 32 to 24, to be at my lowest ever adult weight.
Long term goal - to exterminate another 34kg (75lb).

Measuring cups are not that hard to come by here in the UK, I found a set very cheaply in B&M. They are very helpful to have.

(cant answer your actual question though!)

I have noticed that most recipies will state IE: 2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup castor sugar etc...
Can someone advise me of 1/4 to 1 cup in grams or ounzes. I have never used "cups" in baking!.
Thanks.

Chef Meg's Cheesy Grilled Banana Peppers
Submitted By: CHEF_MEG

Cheese. Bacon. Tomatoes. Yum!
Chef Meg finds a slightly more sophisticated version of the hot pepper poppers found on appetizer menus everywhere. Her version uses mild banana peppers, creamy Gouda cheese, a bit of bacon for a smoky richness, and tomatoes to offer a bit of freshness. She grills them to add another layer of flavor to the dish.

Serve these as an appetizer or unexpected side dish at your next barbecue!

Chef Meg uses panko, or Japanese breadcrumbs in this recipe. You can substitute whatever breadcrumbs you have on hand. Full Recipe
