I like to get a whole wheat pita and cut it in half. Then I spread one wedge of laughing cow herb and garlic cheese in both pockets. After that I fill mine with turkey or chicken and then add green onions and romain lettuce. The cheese and the onion adds enough flavor for me but im sure you could spice it up even more!

I LOVE a good veggie & hummus sandwich! Some must-haves for the perfect one include a hardboiled egg, red pepper, pickles, tomatoes and/or all-natural salsa, and lettuce. I love Cedar's sundried tomato hummus, and all of this together on a toasted sandwich thin = amazing :P Laughing cow is always a good addition as well, and could replace the hummus in desperate times, haha.
I also love making turkey or tuna salad with dijonnaise - turkey or tuna, carrots, celery, tomato, red pepper, pickles, hardboiled egg (or, if none on hand - a chopped up fried egg white!), red onion, peas, scallions; just clean out the fridge basically, lol. Then it's pretty much good to go - just throw it together with some lettuce & your choice of bread spread with some laughing cow. Don't need to worry about getting a bunch of veggies ready since it's all together already :)
love the thought of the grilled veggie sandwich...will have to explore!:)

My favorite is what I call "Salad Sandwich" - a crusty roll practically soaked in red wine vinegar with a slice of low-fat provolone cheese, tons of shredded lettuce, thinly sliced tomato, onion and cucumber, topped with sweet pickled peppers (like the kind at Subway).

LADYAQUATAINE totally stole my answer, only I toast the sandwich thins and use peppered roast beef. (Toasting the sandwich thins helps to keep them from getting soggy.)
Also good with peppered turkey, instead of the roast beef.

anything with buffalo chicken is my favourite. I use the low fat bread from Safeway. It's similar to WW bread but has a little more taste. I try to avoid larger wraps because I find it's too easy to over fill them (veggies are fine, it's the other stuff) and then it's harder for me to account for points.

that sandwich sounds great! something ive started doing with cream cheese is cutting it with cottage cheese. sounds weird, i know, but if you run the cottage cheese in the food processor, it gets really smooth and creamy, and completely blends into whatever flavor you want it to take on. I think its delicious mixed with cream cheese and the difference in calories is pretty significant.

I use the same meats mentioned on here.I also buy salad fixins...various veggies...then slice thin...peppers,onions etc & keep in a couple containers with tight lids. When I want a sandwich or a salad, it's all ready to use.I like crunch & use lots of water chestnuts (blotted dry),sliced cucumbers, radishes, peppers, spinach & romaine lettuce. My "sandwiches" are salads on light bread.NF or LF honey mustard salad dressing adds tang & taste.

Buffalo chicken. Oh man, I want one so bad now I've thought of it. I've made them healthier at home by using grilled chicken and using crumbled blue cheese instead of gobs of the dressing, and of coarse whole wheat. Lovely filling sandwich that isn't *too* fattening. Bit low on veggies, though. Don't get me wrong, I love veggies, on a sandwich especially. It's just something about the spiciness and the creamy blue cheese- wins me over every time.

I very often pack a sandwich in three parts so I make it fresh when I'm ready to eat it. 2 slices of rye bread in one bag. In another bag I put a pile of veggies, like baby spinach, grated carrot, sliced cukes and alfalfa sprouts is my favorite combo. I'll also use lettuce, green pepper sliced very thin, etc. In the third container I put about 4 tablespoons of hummus. I spread the hummus on the bread, pile on the veggies and dig in. It is YUMMY, holds me for a long time, and is only about 230 calories, depending on the kind of rye bread and hummus.

Lately I've been digging turkey, Laughing Cow swiss, baby spinach, and plum tomatoes with pepper and a little bit of Bacon Salt on oatmeal bread.

I love peanut butter and celery cut into thin slices, really breaks up the 'gooey' of PB and it tastes SO good!

Wraps are my favorite. Use which ever wrap you like, I use a sundried tomato or spinach wrap as the base, then load in shredded carrots, cucumbers, spinach, black beans, grape tomatoes and top with FF honey dijon dressing.
It's not what I did, but what I do next that sets the course for success.

Packing sandwiches for my lunch are the easiest for me since I'm a college student and always on the go. I've been making pb & j like crazy lately and though I'm not necessarily tired of them, I'd love to change things up a bit. So what do you put on your favorite sandwich?
A new study from the National Institutes of Health found that the most sedentary individuals are 2.5 times more likely to develop dementia than regular exercisers.
Beets are an underrated vegetable. They're sweet and flavorful. If you think you don't like them, try them in this recipe. Roasting brings out the beets' natural sweetness, and the feta offers a nice, salty contrast. TIP: Buy your beets with the greens still attached--it's great way to check for freshness and the greens can be used for another recipe.
