Everyone here has such great advice I have found that if I get everything for breakfast the night before like the shredded wheat bowl and spoon on the table all i have to do is get out the milk and choose my fruit and I have heard alot of people who sleep in their workout clothes so they can get up and go.
congrats on your wedding I pray that you will fall deeper in love every day. take a pic of your wedding dress and put it on the fridge and the bathroom to remind you what u are working for. good luck

Sidney

Hi, yes it is hard to stay motivated. I usually skip and cheat and mess up my eating plan when I lose 15lbs becuz I decide I have done well and can go back to the old eating habits. What I have found is DON'T deprive yourself of things that you love. There are many ways to make a recipe or dish or whatever diet friendly and then it comes down to portion control. Give yourself variety so you don't get bored with your plan. If it is exercise that you are not motivated to do anymore, change the type of exercise. So far as wanting to lose 20lb for your wedding in FEB (congrats!), maybe, just maybe, that is not a realistic goal that your body set point wants you to reach and it will become very hard, if not impossible at the last five pounds becuz your body is saying "red alert, starvation mode, hang on to the body fat". Good luck and we are all rooting for you !

Hi, i have the exact same problem with motivation, i usually lose up to 10 pounds and tend to gain it all back, that's even with the spark people helping me out, not that i blame them or anything-I'm starting to learn that maybe it is my "healthy weight" (154), but i would just love to be the same as i was when i was at my "healthiest" 137,...but I'm not getting married either(lol!) Congratulations on your upcoming event-and lmk if you do infact find an answer to your question please, because I'm looking for the same one with you! emoticon

MERISSA_MARIE,

Congratulations on your up-coming wedding! When I feel the diet blues coming on I just sign on to Spark People. I read articles and blogs and post comments -- in general I just hang out on line with people who share my struggles and desire to live healthier. It's a great way to feel connected with driving my husband or secretary crazy with all my "food talk". Hope this helps.
Jocelyn

i would say workout/walk with a buddy, tell a friend what you ate or did for the day so you are held accountable. treat each day as a new day and a new start. you can be my sparkbuddy if you want.

Welcome to SP! You may get better responses to your post if you post it in the Staying Motivated forum instead of this one which is for recipes. I'm sure you will get more responses over there for what you are looking for.
