You came to the right place. emoticon

My advice based on my experience is to start with small realistic goals so you build on success. This has to be a permanent life style change that you can live with so build up to it. Doesn't matter how long it takes, you'll get there.

There are so many great resources here! I recommend starting with the nutrition/food tracker because that is the key element in weight loss for most people. Then, once you're comfortable with tracking your food on a daily basis, start exploring more areas of this site. I still find something new here almost every day. By tracking everything since May 2011 and using the other features here to keep myself focused, I lost 90 pounds and have maintained that loss for over a year now. It takes a little bit of time, but it is sooooo worth it!

And, setting up your own SparkPage and making it public/accessible will allow others to provide you with support, motivation and encouragement!

Stick to your sparkpeople ranges, and make sure you exercise regularly; strength training is critical for preserving lean muscle mass, even though it's not a big calorie burner.
