Things that have helped me lose 75 pounds (with 103 to go) would be:
-check in to SparkPeople daily for motivation and support
-track it before you eat it so there are no hidden suprises
-be active in Spark Teams that interest you
-excercise is our friend, and we should visit our friend frequently

Hi Jessica,

emoticon to SP. I have been in your situation, also having lost a large amount of weight only to gain it back. At my highest, I was 250. I am down 80 pounds from that now, and it's been 4 years since I was over 200. I found SP 2 years ago and it has made a big difference.

I started by tracking my food. That taught me so much, especially seeing that I was eating too much salt even though I thought I was eating low sodium. I went with SP's recommendations for calories and the ratios of carbs, proteins, and fat. As I started losing and learning more by reading the articles in here, I started tracking my exercise. I've always walked a lot, but started adding in other types of exercise.

The biggest thing that has helped me to enjoy the site more and to stay interested is joining teams. It's amazing what a fun team of supportive people will do for your motivation. Everything I have written is pretty basic, but it works. I would suggest you don't try everything at once because you can get overwhelmed. Start with tracking your food and really understanding what you are doing. Hi! My name is Jessica, and I am just starting on the long journey of losing weight and becoming healthy. I have a large amount of weight to loose (about 100 pound), and know it will not be easy to do. I am hoping SparkPeople will be a great resource and motivational tool.

I have lost the weight before just to gain it right back plus more. I don't want that to happen again. What are some things that have been helpful to those of you that have had success? Anything that has not been overly beneficial? Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
