emoticon Welcome, Tiffany

Oh, emoticon I know what it is like to be married to a man who can eat all the time and never gain weight. My husband can pick up a rock and have muscles pop out, so thankfully, my five children got that from him. Since your husband is "naturally" thin, make sure to NOT push food on to your DD. Let her stop eating when she says she has had enough. This is probably something that happened to you as a child since the "trend" in families that are overweight is to "clean up that plate as there are children starving in China/Africa, where ever" A child will eat when they are hunger, and only YOU are in control of what food they eat, so if they "only want french fries and ice cream" whose fault is that? My GD is two and her mother (my DIL) has a Master's degree in Child Psychology and she has ONLY given her very nutritious food like olives, tomatoes, lean meats, etc. and my GD loves that food that others kids won't touch. So, at 8 months when you DD starts eating table food give vegetables, etc. and she will be use to them.
You can release FIVE POUNDS ten times and get to that first 50 pound goal.

emoticonemoticonemoticon WELCOME TO SPARK!!! emoticonemoticonemoticon
Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.

A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.

2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!

Welcome! It's a great idea to do one smaller goal at a time if you have a lot to lose. I have a lot to lose and have been giving myself smaller goals to achieve in a certain time period and it's working well for me to have those goals. You can do it!

Hello everyone. I am brand new to SparkPeople. I found myself drawn to this website many times because they had such great articles on multiple things I've googled in the past week. emoticon I didn't realize until now that this is actually a community of people with a common goal. My name is Tiffany and my goal is to lost 50 pounds by the end of this year. I have more than that to lose but I'm just taking it a step at a time. I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful 8 month old daugther. My husband is naturally thin and can eat whatever he likes so it really becomes a struggle sometimes to balance nutrition between the two of us. Pretty much my entire family has dealt with weight issues and I just inherited the trend. I would like to stop that trend now. I want to be the best me I can be. Not just for me but for my husband and for my precious little girl. I want to be a great example for her growing up.
