Welcome Michelle! Sounds like you have a good plan for starting out and with the shakes for maintaining. It is probably a good idea to cut back on them slowly once you lose the weight and incorporate your healthy foods. This is my third try as well, in more ways than one. I have been successful in the past, it's just the keeping on that's tough. 100 miles is a great walking goal. I've also set up a couple walking goals for myself and it is really exciting to work towards them!

My name is Michelle and I'm back for a third try. I think I have the right motivation this time and with the SparkPeople app for my phone I hope it will be easier to keep track of my food than it was before.
My daughter is getting married October 18th and I have to drop some of this weight before then.
I've been successful with Visalus in the past (I lost 30 lbs in 16 weeks), but the weight came back as soon as I stopped the shakes. I'm going to use Visalus again this time. I'll do two shakes, one healthy meal and 3 healthy snacks each day. Once I drop the weight I'll maintain with one shake a day and 2 healthy meals.
I love eating and I love sweets--those are going to be my toughest hurdles. I have a really nice juicer, but it is far over our budget to do much juicing.
I started using a Misfit Shine fitness tracker and I'm using RunKeeper to know how far I've walked each time I go out walking. My walking goal is 100 miles (no deadline). For my first walk, I walked 1.3 miles this morning with an average min/mile of 20.56.
Yesterday I tried the SparkPeople fitness assessment test and it was a total embarrassment! I could only do 4 push-ups and NO crunches. I didn't realize I was THAT out of shape.
It is 3.8 miles to my work. I'm going to ride my bike to work tonight.
