You are welcome and Amen to that, Beadmkr! One step at a time... So glad to hear your migraine is gone. I just got some beautiful strawberries and I did not pick up anything other than fruit and veggies! If temptation is not in the house, I am okay but if I know there is something sweet, I will eat it til it is gone. So I am going to be wise and reroute myself to not even go close to the bakery section!

BTW...I am going to go and check out this book you are reading. Thanks for the recommendation. I love reading and whatever helps me to continue is worth the buy!

Have a great day, StarShine emoticon Me soon! :-)

Today, I abandon my old habits and take up new, more positive ones.

Thanks StarShine! I went home a little early yesterday, took a nap and the rest of my migraine went away. So, I went out to one of our favorite groceries last night, Lucky's and grabbed up some fruits, veggies and some other "good for you" foods. I also started reading a book that I'm finding very interesting. It's called The Gabriel Method. I saw this man, Jon Gabriel on a documentary that I really enjoyed and I think most people probably would. I'm pretty sure it was called "Forks Over Knives"...there were a couple that I've watched recently. Anyway, I'm going to wish you all the luck on your journeys as well....one step at a time. Even taking baby steps we will lap everyone still sitting on the couch. :)

Just want to wish you the best during your journey of a new beginning and just had to say, I really liked your comment, "Find your rainbows where you can." Sooo very true! I too am just starting (yesterday) and am planning to truly succeed this time. I am also going to quit smoking at the same time. Yikes! :-)

Wishing you a great day and migraine free day! emoticon

I want to thank all the people who have taken time to welcome me and encourage me on this journey. I've had a bit of a slow start as I got a migraine over the weekend that usually puts me to bed for a couple days. I'm up and at it today, but thinking another day of rest may have been needed. I may not have exercised any for a couple of days, but I don't typically eat much when I have a migraine, so I guess there's that to be thankful for. LOL! Find your rainbows where you can, right?

Hi Everyone-
I'm new to Spark but not to the "dieting" world. I've been fighting with my weight it seems my entire life and now that I'm "middle-aged" and the heaviest I have ever been I am more dedicated then ever to reach a healthy weight. I've tried everything out there and I KNOW what needs to be done but for some reason always find myself back where I started but only heavier.... I don't have a goal weight but I do have goal "feel". I want to feel healthy, I want to wake up and not feel pain in my joints, I want to get up from my chair at work or the couch at home and not ache in my knees or loose breath just walking around the building. I want to be able to sit on the floor and not worry about how I'm going to get off the floor. I want to be able to buy clothes anywhere I want without having to shop at a specialty store for plus sizes. I want to feel like the best years of my life are still ahead of me....I'm hoping that by joining Spark that I will find others struggling the way I have and will get the motivation to continue on when I get down or depressed. I want more then anything to be as strong as I know I can be, to prove to myself that there's a beautiful woman inside all of this that's just crying to get out and live life to it's fullest. Thanks everyone, Beth.
