Thank you for the positive feedback! I haven't ever joined any of the groups. I love Spark People though because it has the food tracker and exercise tracker and ideas and it doesn't cost anything which is unlike any other program I know. ...I am going to try to use SP more and come up with a plan to lose weight and get in shape in a way that is doable for me.
Hello! I don't know where the time goes sometime. I'm also 42 and I'm still trying to figure out what happened to my 20s! LOL I think Sparkpeople offers a lot of great tools to help you through this journey! Have you joined any sparkteams? They can be a fun way to meet others with similar interests. Just jump right in and have fun!
And if you need someone to talk to or a buddy to walk this journey with, give me a shout! I'm very motivated and always looking for others to help!

I started SP when I was 34 and now I am 42! Wow! Well through that time I have lost 50 pounds and gained it back. I have done low carb and I don't want to do it again. I just had a total hysterectomy so I have changed drastically and I want to avoid the weight gain that I keep reading is inevitable after this surgery. I could stand to lose 50 pounds already so I don't want to add to that. I have never written on a comment board before but I want to try something different. I want ideas on how to gradually bring my weight down without too much deprivation. I love the idea of exercise but I don't know where to start. I am open to ideas. :)
