I am also a vet, been out longer then you (30yrs).
Going to school (have been doing that as well)
sure adds to the stress. However, if you set
your mind to it, you can do it!
Something that has helped me a lot is to
make a goal of one pound per week, increase
your exercise by 10 min and lower your calories
by 500 calories a day then you will lose a
pound a week with little? impact on your busy life.
