The best way to start is to set up a spark page. With the page others can give you support.
Ton begin with how much soda or junk food do you buy. If you buy high carbohydrate food those calorie will stop you ever losing weight. There is a search place at the top of the page check out good carbs and bad carbs it will give you a list. Not all carbs are bad for us. Fruit and vegetables are carbs and they help keep us healthy. If you have just had a baby (CONGRATULATIONS !) you should ask your Dr to refer you to a nutritionist. There should be a way to see a nutritionist for free. You and your DH will have to work out what food you can stop buying that has lots of sugar and white processed flour in it. . It is difficult on a budget but you can do it together.
Check out the tracker and it will help you to keep track of your calorie intake.
A really big issue for you will be the walking. In Maine where I live it is hard to walk outdoors. I go to the grocery store or sometimes Home depot. I walk up and down the aisles.
You should start to walk just 10 minutes three times a day. Walk as fast as you can but walking you should always be able to talk, If you are too out of breath slow down and walk slower.
