I have been on SparkPeople since mid December 2013. Some health issues last fall have brought me to this place in my life where I must admit that my eating habits have to be healthy and my exercise habits have to be healthy---exercise was pretty much non-existent for me before. This website was suggested to me by a dietician, and she was spot on. This has been so easy and motivating. I can track all my foods, weight, and fitness and see how I'm really doing. I have lost 10.5# since December 19, 2013 by staying within my guidelines and exercising every day for at least 10 minutes---though I usually shoot for 30 minutes. My goal is to lose 50# by August 2014, my birthday month, and at the rate I am going now, I think that is a goal within my reach. While my weight fluctuates on a daily basis--one day I gain a pound or two, another day I lose 2 or 3#-----but I'm not letting that stop me. It took a while to "acquire" all this extra weight, and it's going to take a while to get rid of it. I'm feeling so much better than I did 6 months ago. I don't like the fact that I am now on several medications, but I hope with changing my eating and exercise habits and weight, that situation may diminish over time.
