Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.

A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.

2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!

I am in the same boat you are in. the following is my face book post tonight. The only thing I can say is you are not alone.

Ok so here goes one of the most truthful post i may ever write. But if you are reading this you are a friend or a family member.It's been said when you reach the bottom there is no way but up. Well i have reached my bottom. I had some blood work done yesterday only to be told that some of the test could not be completed because my blood was too thick with FAT that the machine could not spin it. I sat shocked and in disbelief. 21 years of trying everything pills,shakes,bars,drinks, eat this eat that dont eat this dont eat that and now im knocking on the door of a heart attack. I still dont know how to do what needs to be done. I know what needs to be done (eat less move more) its the how I dont know. So what I am asking each of you who will is give me some moral support some accountability and lots and lots of prayers. Stop by say a kind word.This isn't a want anymore this is a need.

I AM WORTH THIS!

Today is the beginning of a new road for me, I put the intention out there!
I have been plagued with weight issues my whole life pretty much, weight is on my mind 24/7 and I am tiered of living this way. I want to reach a point where my weight is consistent and I don't need to think about it anymore. Food for me has always been an emotional thing, I reach for it anytime I feel something I don't wanna deal with. My weight affects the way I feel about myself, my confidence, the way I behave with people, my job and my overall enjoyment of life. I am constantly yo-yoing up and down and its reached a point where I am exhausted emotionally...I want to make it to stop and I need your support! Can anyone give me tips on what's worked for them and helped them snap out of this robotic mindset where you reach for food when you;re not hungry? I'm stuck in this cycle: start of the day I am v determined, something happens and I reach for food robotically, I mess up, I feel guilty and bash myself then promise to start fresh the next day. Its never ending!
