Why, thank you very much. I'm going to put an effort into staying in touch with this site, and actually getting involved. It's nice to see the support is out there.

It is overwhelming, isn't it? But, I've tried Sparks in the past w/out actually getting involved. I don't think that works. There seems to be a lot of support and information available. I must learn more about tracking, too. Small steps daily, I guess.

And juicing/blending is a great way to get more veggies in you if you don't have a lot of time for yourself. I mean, nothing beats salads with all kinds of seeds, but it is time consuming. I find if I spend time chopping and having things available in containers (something that can be done on a day off), then it's easier to throw things together. Got the idea from Subway's salad bar, and it really works.

What I've also been doing is steam/stir frying a mix of veggies to have on hand. I love stir fry, and this also gives you a good mix of veggies. In fact, I heated up a bowl for breakfast, and it was very good!

Good luck.

Thank you for your suggestions! Juicing may just be a good avenue for me because of my long work schedule. .I will definitely look into it. All this is overwhelming but I have committed a portion of my day to heath now & it helps reading the articles etc. Now time to track!! Thank u again or responding & look forward to hearing from u in the future. God Bless

Hi, there. I'm 67 and also have the 'now or never' syndrome. I'm also a rather private person so getting involved in something like this is a tad difficult. Still, sometimes it's best to just jump in the water. Doing something half way never works for me.

I'd like to lose 15 lbs. I do have a lot of energy and am building up my immune system after b/c. Have you tried juicing or blending? I'm very much hooked on both. I tend to do more in the summer because something cold is more welcoming on a hot day, but still get my vegs juice in every second day. I've been juicing/blending for a couple of years now. Had not a terrific immune system (I think chemo had a lot to do with it, but that was a few years back). Since juicing, I don't get sick more than occasionally having my body fight something for a day or two. I'm a big believer!

I've also been making my own kombucha tea for the last couple of months and have quite a few friends making it, too. I drink a bit of this every day for the good probiotics. I've been making my own cultured veggies, too, for the same reason.

Anyway, good for both of us for giving it a chance!

Because of health issues need to loose around 60#. I am tired of the physical pain that is made worse by the overweight. Feeling unattractive, tired, etc. I will be 65 this year & finally realize it is now or never. But I know I cannot do this alone. emoticon
