I have no more excuses. I am nearly 100 pounds over my ideal weight. I have been creeping up over the past 18 years, and it is time to do something about it. I actually have a moderately active daily routine at work, but I "rest" and eat with abandon when I am at home.
I have been my family's caregiver on top of taking care of myself (or not), which is my patent excuse. When I went to college (first in my family tree to get a degree), I used to give myself pep talks about no one making me do this if I want to quit. Then, I would forge ahead. I need to get that focus for my health and fitness.
When I complained about no time for a fitness routine, my professor used to say, "all brawn, no brains." I clung to that as comfort for not being able to make time for health and fitness while getting degrees and credentials. All that has been very rewarding, but now I am middle-aged, and I want to live beyond retirement with some quality of life twenty years down the road and beyond.
Also, I am a SCUBA diver, and that will become a more enjoyable recreation when I drop sizes.
I love the taste of food, but I love the taste of life even better!
