Here is a great idea which worked for me (when I was registered with a gym).
Don't always be the driver - because once you're there with someone you have to do SOMETHING until they leave ;) Gym is a healthy addiction. Start slow, you'll find after some time you'll grave going to the gym :)
And if it really is hard for you to get into it - look into a preworkout drink (which is safe for yourself AND legal).

p.s. Even if you just walk slowly on the treadmill, it does count, and as you get fitter and stronger you can raise your options (I love weight training)
