Hello and Welcome to SparkPeople!

I started Sparking in June of 2007. By using Spark and some self discovery along the way, I'm down 50 pounds, and am holding steady at a healthy weight. Spark is a massive site, you'll be discovering new and exciting things for months to come!

I totally know what you mean but as long as its healthy fats and you're in you range it's ok. I usually check the pie chart after I do my daily feedback to see what percentage of it is fat, protein and carbs. As long as you're not eating more than the percentage required your'e good.

Since I added avocado to my diet I find that I lose more weight; so fats do have their place. emoticon

Hi - I am one month into Spark people, and this is my first post. Tracking food has been a wonderful eye opening experience for me, - I am slowly losing weight, I am eating well, I am truly enjoying food, and I am no longer always experiencing the crippling feeling of bloated fullness from over-eating.

But every once in awhile I get obsessed with the FAT in foods.

I am so grateful that I can eat dietary fat and intellectually I know I need it. I truly do! But, today after eating lunch, my FAT is at 30 (mainly from 1/4 cup of walnuts) and my Daily goal is 27-60. My initial reaction was one of dread and anger. Oh, my gosh, I can no longer eat fat! I just can't do this. I'll never lose weight. My plans for eating out with friends tonight are ruined!

I know I shouldn't feel this way, but I do!

BTW, most days I hit the upper goal of 60, rarely near the lower range of 27.

I just really wish I could look at this as a success and not a failure!

Does anyone else have this obsession?
