Welcome to SparkPeople! You'll find lots of support, information and inspiration here. I found the CPAP and getting a good sleep every night for a change really helped me. All the best on achieving your goals!

Lita,

You can do it. Search articles on Sleep Apnea and sleeping issues. There's tons of good research on the site. Good luck!

Hello all,
I am a twenty something year old female and losing weight in the last two years has been really tough. My doctor thought I had some serious health issue which prevented me from losing weight. We thought it was thyroid issues. After many tests it turned out to sleep apnea. I am hoping to get fitted with a CPAP machine later this week. But as some of you might know.. sleep apnea makes it hard to lose weight. Which is ironic because the sleep apnea happened because of weight gain and now I cannot easily get rid of what caused the sleep apnea- weight gain! I should add that the weight gain happened because of a long history with depression- but that's another story:) Anyway, if any of you have had any issues with weight troubles + sleep apnea, please lend your support:) I need it!
Much Sparklovin',
Lita
