WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.
A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.
2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. First off warmest welcome to Spark People. It's going to be a hard journey but if you stay committed even when you fall off get right back on. Log everything as if you were writing a book about yourself. Food prep is a big key. Search this site for recipes and plan meals for the week...Tupperware or brown bagging works. It's about 80-90% what you intake and the rest is activity. Try something new whether it be food or activity. In order for your body to change you have to change your mind. I can tell you what helped me loose 56lbs, you have to play around with what works for your body. Listen if you need an accountability partner let me know. I have a support page on (link below) if you ever need some daily inspiration, recipes or if you'd like to add some input on what helps you. Stay committed in this journey!!!

Hi, I have been trying to lose 50lbs for about a year and have only managed to lose 15lbs. The sad part is I exercise a lot and still slow results. At one point I was exercising morning, noon, and evening and still no more than the initial 15. I have decided to cut the exercise back, I was exhausting myself, and focus more on what I'm eating which brought me to this site. So that's my story open to any advice...
