Yes to have a beverage before eating like tea or broth/low sodium is a great idea. I will do that this evening.

Welcome to Sparkpeople!

You could try starting your meal with a broth based soup which will slow you down and let you have a chance to feel full.

The other possibility might be to get more fiber both in your meals and snacks. Having a hot beverage like tea or coffee may help too, especially with something that is high in fiber.

Hi,
I am new to Spark people. I signed up just last week. This is a great site with lots of information and support. I never tracked my food, so I have started slowly. I usually track breakfast and a snack. I forget the rest of the day. I am mostly concerned with the evening meal and eating time. I can do perfect all day, but dinner hits and I am ravenous. My portions are too big and I seem to snack after dinner. Any help with this would be appreciated. I can only think that maybe during the day I am not eating enough. I guess I better make the time to track better to get an idea of what I can and cannot have. If I don't put some effort into being successful, success will not fall into my lap. emoticon
