Thanks everyone!
Goal-setting is one thing I need to really start working on. I'm in the middle of moving though, so I think it's best if I just keep trying to make, small, conscious health changes during that transition and then really focus my goals once I'm settled.
I guess I kind of have goals though, since I'm following a nutrition plan with guidelines and have started the 5k your way program here :)
Those are my goals for now! emoticon

I will NOT feel deprived when I bypass junk food. I will feel empowered that I made the healthy choice!

emoticonemoticonemoticon WELCOME TO SPARK!!! emoticonemoticonemoticon
Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!

First...it's really easy to get caught going down the rabbit hole on this site isn't it? emoticon

I'm at the tail-end of a four year fight against neurological Lyme disease and trying to reclaim my inner athlete. I've lost the excess weight that the beginning of the disease gave me (ironically, being sick at other stages is what caused me to lose it...I guess the Lyme giveth and the Lyme taketh away?!)

I'm impatient to try to re-gain some lost time and just get healthy right away, but I have to be careful to not go back to my old tendencies of being too hard on myself too. Trying to remember how to enjoy life...not just trying to survive.

I would love friends! Feel free to stop by my page (under construction!!) emoticon
