Welcome. It's understandable to be hesitant, but I assure you it is possible one day, one meal at a time. I find pre-planning the most beneficial, meals, snacks on hand and activities to do instead of eating.

WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.
A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.
2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. This is the place to start a new, healthier life. There are so many great folks on here and lots of tools to help you achieve your goals.
I understand about the pictures thing..my newer pics are so embarrassing to me. But, I know you have a starting point so once I reach my goals I can look back and see how far I have come.
You can do this. Don't be afraid to ask for help. If you haven't already, join some teams and interact with people, even if you feel silly or shy. I'm shy, too, but I have met some wonderful people on here who have really inspired me.
If you want to reach a goal, you must "see the reaching" in your own mind before you actually arrive at your goal.

Hi everyone, I'm hoping this move gives me the kick start and support I need to lose 140lbs. I'm so proud of all the people who've achieved their goals. I hope I'm one of them. I have 3 children and have never had pictures taken with them and have never been out with them as I'm too embarrassed. I want to be the mum I dream of being for them and the woman I dream of being for myself. Thanks
