Welcome to SP! I know it's hard, but I promise, eating better and exercising routinely does get easier after you've been doing it for a little bit. Just focus on small changes at a time. Pick a couple nutrition goals, like drinking all 8 glasses of water every day, and adding 2-3 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Once you met those goals for a week or two, add in a couple more goals, but keeping meeting those as well. This is a much easier approach than changing all your eating habits at once. Also, it really does help to look at it as a healthy lifestyle change, rather than just something temporary until the weight comes off. Then, you know that occasionally, you can still have fried foods, and I know many of us have chocolate a few times a week. The trick is to only eat an appropriately-sized serving, and that will also get easier with time.

Hi everyone:-)

My name is Leslie and I am 31 years old. I have had trouble with my weight for the past 11 years since I was diagnosed with thyroid problem (underactive). I don't have insurance so every time I run out of my medication I have to go get more blood work which cost more then I can afford. About a couple months ago I just stopped taking my thyroid for a while and that lead to a lot of trouble. I currently have a enlarged liver from high cholesterol. My doctor told me I need to be on a low fat low cholesterol diet and stay away from the fried foods. I am about 25 pounds over weight and it really shows for my 4"11 Frame. When I first went to the doctor I was weighting 162 and after I started the medication I dropped to 152 quickly. I just weighted myself today from the last 152 weigh in and I am 148 as of right now. I really need some encouragement, this is hard diet to go on. I love fried foods and a big chocolate lover, I would be very happy if I could meet some people on here to motivate each other. Thanks for reading my intro:-)

Leslie
