I have a handful of medical problems which make me less mobile than most people here, so I had to adjust the number of calories I eat accordingly. I ate 1,200/day during my weight-loss phase, also following some additional recommendations my internist made for other medical problems (it's fun, fun, fun to be my age - LOL!). Spark - and many other good authorities - don't recommend going under 1,200 calories, as that's the caloric level at which a person can obtain minimal nutrition. So, that's what I did for my own situation, and it worked.
