Hello everyone, I'm new to Sparkpeople, 56 years old, and want to lose 90 lbs.@ 2 lbs. per week. Sciatica for the past year has made exercise all but impossible, however working out with my exercise bike not only burns the calories, but seems to help my back a great deal. I've only ridden it for 30 minutes for the past three days, and have burned 242, 217, and 234 calories consecutively. I went to a dietician and now have a sugar-free 'food choices' plan to make 1800 calories intake per day, over three meals and three snacks. I was in karate for over twenty years and I'd love to be fit enough to return to it again.
