Have tried Spark People before.. but love this newer look and easy of use!! I have 40 lbs to misplace and have started healthy food options and beginners exercise program. This year is all about getting me back together again!

WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family! *~ Paula *~

One thing that helped me when my weight loss slowed down once, was to join a challenge. Look around for a challenge team (a type of SparkTeam or a SparkTeam that has an active challenge area), where the goals are attractive to you, and then you will instantly have a bunch of people cheering for you. Exchanging encourgement is really helpful.
Best of luck on achieving your goals, and remember to reward yourself with non-food rewards, for goals, and also just for sticking to plan!

Hi! I'm Julie and I live in Klamath Falls, Oregon. I've been divorced since November and all the kids are grown and out on their own. I've made great strides within myself and have lost 70 lbs so far on my own through exercise and totally changing my eating habits. However, I've reached a plateau and can't seem to get on track to losing more weight. A friend recommended SparkPeople and I am really hoping that through the information, encouragement and support that you offer on this site, I will be able to break through and continue my weight loss journey.
