Coming to spark people is the best step you could have made. I had open heart surgery when I was 17 (Pericarditis). I actually coded and had to be put on dialysis for a week bc when your heart stops everything shuts down including kidneys. They told me I wouldn't make it to see 30 & I showed them. Fast forward to date down 56lbs & it wasn't easy. I fell off & on many many times, it's how you come back. If you can commit to change even when you fall off you get right back on. Anytime you need an accountability partner. Log log log, log everything as if you were writing a book about yourself. Food prep is a big key. Search this sites for recipes and plan meals for the week...Tupperware or brown bagging works. It's about 80-90% what you intake and the rest is activity. Try something new whether it be food or activity. In order for your body to change you have to change your mind. I have a support page on Facebook (link below) if you ever need some daily inspiration, recipes or if you'd like to add some input on what helps you. Remember I'm here for support.

I am 43 years old, clinically obese at 270 pounds, diabetic, had heart attack and double by-pass at 35 years old and two stents. I have 2 children and am scared I am never going to see them graduate (4 years one of them) let alone see grandchildren & be a part of their lives actively versus in a wheel chair due to limb loss or dead due to heart problems.

I have tried every diet out there...pills, shots, vitamins, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Atkins, you name it...I've tried it. Even had lapband. Lost 40 pounds - began insulin for diabetes and gained it all back. Have had 0% success since going on insulin. Please let this be the beginning of something real...something for a lifetime and let that lifetime be longer than anticipated given my health to date. emoticon

I need someone supportive to challenge me - especially to workout at all. I had all summer off and walked/exercised 5 days....are you freakin' kidding me? I need variety. Have an elliptical machine, access to track, football field, weight room, etc. at school...haven't found anything to get me going. I used to be an athlete...now nothing. Volleyball was/is my passion and can't even get to point where that is feasible at 270. My husband no longer finds me attractive. Oh, he says he still is...but how can he be? I'm disgusted by what I see.

Desperate in Nebraska!!
