For the past 2 years, I've been focused on my career. Working 50-60 hours per week, away from home a minimum of 4 days a week, in a very demanding job. Almost every moment not at work has been spent sleeping or just trying to recover.
Well no more. I'm changing jobs. I'm going to work to live, not live to work. I thought I was doing the right thing by seeking financial and job security, doing the right thing by being disciplined and driven and focused on excellence, doing the right thing by doing anything and everything my job called for. Those are all good and important things, and I'm proud of what I've accomplished. But I've neglected my inner life, my body, my relationships. My family misses me. Enough is enough.
So here I am at Spark People, getting ready to find a happier, healthier, more joyous life.
Words mean things.
