This is my second time using Spark People. When I first used Spark People a few years ago, I was able to lose 30 pounds and was very healthy.
Unfortunately, with many depressing life events, I strayed way off course and ate more then I could chew (literally).
Since then, I have gained a great love for cooking which will be helpful this time around.
I noticed how much I miss running.
It has been over 4 years since I was able to run a mile without dying. So starting in June, I will start training for my first
ever using the Couch To 5K Program. Eventually, I would love to be apart of the Color Run (and maybe the Mud Run in the future.) I really do enjoy walking and there are plenty of parks around to start this wonderful dream.
Here I am returning because my future is so bright, why shouldn't I be prepared to keep up with it?
I love Spark People and have even recommended it to some of my friends, my boyfriend and his family. Our families already love eating healthy already but this just adds to our journey to gain a healthier future (individually and together!).
We have been planning our futures together and I have been fearful of health issues that run in my family. I may not be able to control every portion in my life, however, I will do everything in my ability and power to become healthy. I want to be able to keep up with my future husband and our children.
Professionally, I work at a Zoo in the Education Department as an Education Programmer. It is definitely a dream job for me considering I went to school for 6 years in order to reach my goal of combining education, animals, and conservation.
I travel to local schools, work with groups that come to the zoo, and also develop programs for families. It is truly wonderful seeing children's faces light up when they see an animal or learn something new. (It's also exciting when the teachers or parents discover something new as well!)
I couldn't imagine a more diverse community filled with support and the shared goal of being healthier then this one.
Thank you in advance!
