WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.
A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.
2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world

Lost track of weight and health for a while. I knew I had to eat better to lower my weight and improve my health. But people telling me I am fat didn't cause me to do anything about it. What did it a promise to my parents who passed in September who were always concerned about my health. And the need to stop hearing my doctor telling me I have to lose some wait. Went to see him in response to a call he made to me concerning the possibility of the start of diabetes. He took my weight and was happy to see I started losing. He decided to draw some more blood and I am waiting for the results praying and hoping the results changed. Anyway I stared eating salads and fish only. Dropped the bread, pasta and rice. I also stopped indulging in dairy products except for blue cheese on my salads. Feeling great for the past 21/2 months. Find going up the subway stairs somewhat bearable now. Have a pep in my step now. I also started going to a gym. What else can I do.
Fighting my way to succeed in everything I do everyday, not letting anything stand in my way. Your welcome to come along with me tomorrow is another I'd like to have you there with me. To help other people find the way. Cheers
