Wow, you really have the exercise part of a health lifestyle rolling along! Great job! The trackers here are very helpful to face the facts of food. The articles and expert advice help as well. I am particularly impressed by how solid and sane the recommendations are for healthy eating. No weird diet fads! And the emphasis on health and not "dieting" and weight loss alone are very encouraging. Good luck to you!

You’ll get where you want to go as long as you are taking more steps in the right direction than the wrong one.

Hi Everyone.

Looking to stay motivated now that I am taking responsibility for my weight/health. I quit smoking back mid February. This was after my New Years resolution was to get healthier. Yes I had been going to the gym but other that seeing my trainer once a week, its a lonely experience. My husband and son run competitively but I hated running (16 years of swimming does that to a person). Anyway always being around athletic people, my couple of times a week at the gym just didn't cut it so I started walking. I'd dropped my son at training and one of the other mum's asked if I wanted to walk. I said yes. If I had have known it was going to be 6.5km's in under an hour I think I might have asked some one to shoot me. I did it huffing and puffing the whole way. But that's what started me. For the next 3 weeks I made sure I walked the same distance each time but quicker. Then I quit the smoking and joined Victorian Masters swearing that I was only going to race walk that they would never see me run. Famous last words. I'd put on 3kgs last year when I broke my ankle that I hadn't been able to budge. Then the quitting smoking has added another 3kgs. I want them gone!!! However with the increase in walking/running my stomach body fat pinch test halved. My goal now is to lose the kilo's, get fitter and be ready to race walk in comps come summer season. My six month goal is running 40 kms a week, One month in and I am consistently doing 30kms a week. I joined here to be able to track my food because I don't think I've been eating enough. Actually after three days I know I haven't ben eating enough and others bingeing.

Sorry to go on and on.

Bek

Just put one foot in front of the other and move it
