REALITY- After this is done, depending on the extent of the surgery, the scar can be traumatiing. I had an abdominoplasty done in 1993. I had lost 160# and was 35 years old. I had 2 incisions. One was retropubic (where you have a C-Section) the other goes completely around my body except for about 6 inches of my back. Also, my navel was 'removed' and resutured in place in my 'new' abdomen, so there is a scar all the way around that.
The pain was minimal, surprisingly. I needed to take nothing for it, though my nurses about needed something every time they changed the dressing! There was a drain for about 7 days.
If I eat much wheat, which causes me to retain fluids, I feel......well, stiff I guess.... in the area of the incision. The scar is very evident and I would never wear a 2 piece! I consider it a battle scar.
Would I do it again? Not sure. You see, although I didn't/don't have to 'fold my belly into my pants' anymore, I also saw how saggy my legs, arms, boobs, etc were. We have to learn to accept ourselves and not expect perfection.
This is a very personal choice. Think about it. Pray about it. Get at LEAST 2 opinions. Then, if you decide you want to do it, go for it without regrets.
