Hi Laura, I'm new too! I am married with 2 daughters (6 & 8) and also a binger. If you'd like to send me a PM I'll gladly be your buddy. Just getting used to Sparkpeople and I like it so far. I'm 40 yrs old and female if that matters.

Hi Laura! Welcome to Sparkpeople! There are Spark teams and you should be able to find one of people (possibly in Canada) that can help you check in and stay accountable. It helps me to be able to track my food and exercise on Sparkpeople and establish sparkstreaks that I can keep going! Best of luck!

Hey Everyone,
I'm new to SparkPeople and could really use someone to "check in" with to hold me accountable. I've had some success losing weight in the past, but I feel like I've been struggling for the last year. I've gained 10-15 pounds and have been trying for the last 6 months to lose it. It seems like I will lose 3 or 4 pounds, then get emotionally stressed and binge eat all the weight back on plus some. I moved to Canada (from Texas) last year with my husband and 2 daughters, and I think the big change was harder on me than I realized (hence the 10-15 pound gain). I feel like I've gotten over the stress of moving to a new country, and I've made a few friends out here as well, so I can't figure out why I can't stop binging. I think I would do a lot better if I felt like someone was doing it with me instead of feeling alone in this, and also have someone specific to reach out to when I'm having a bad day before I go on a binge. I love my husband but sometimes I feel like I just can't talk to him about this stuff, probably because I'm embarrassed when I binge. Is there anyone out there that's in my same situation that would like a friend to share the journey with? Or maybe just someone who is willing to be my mentor for staying on track?
