I am in the middle of reading this book, too, and it really makes sense to me. It's been a while since you posted, and I'm wondering how detox went for you. Have you found the program helpful and doable?

I used to have trigger foods, especially wheat (breads and crackers) but since I started working out, food doesn't seem to have the hold it once did. For one thing, I allow myself to have whatever I want, so there is no 'forbidden food' to tempt me. After working out though, I seem to crave proteins and healthy food, not junk. I keep my drawer at work filled with low fat chips, chocolate bars, whoppers and other junk food. I have yet to break into it, though I will if I have a craving. I also keep peanut butter in there and tuna packets. Keep healthy food handy!

Hi! I am a 50+ nurse whomis making a choice to start a healthy eating program. ( Not diet). Am starting program by Dr. Pamela Peeke from her hunger fix book. Stars with a detox period for 3-4 weeks to. get you to stop buying and eating your " trigger" foods which for me is sweets in general. Am a bit nervous as have done the lose and gain thing too many times to count. This is about ridding your diet of the junk that you stress eat ,binge or eat when stressed out.Would appreciate help from anyone having done this recently. Thanks to all.
