I just started SparkPeople this week, and so far I love it! I definitely believe it will be a huge tool in helping me make permanent changes.
My goal is to lose about 30lbs by July 3rd.
I grew up always being thin, and I loved it. Clothes were easy to shop for, I wasn't too self-conscious, and it was one less thing to worry about. I've also always been a stress eater. Once I graduated high school, I gained my freshman 15. M&M's, chips, and fast food seemed to be the best study food. One thing I noticed was that I didn't have as much energy to do my school work or go exercising once I put that weight on.
I got married about a year after that, and maintained that weight. I wasn't exactly happy with it, but as a newlywed with a wonderful flattering husband, I wasn't too worried about it. Then he left for his first deployment, and I freaked out! I reached for food since I didn't have him, and gained another 15 pounds. He came back from deployment and still loved me, never told me I looked bad or anything, but I don't feel good about how I look at all. My old clothes don't fit and my new clothes don't look good on me.
Four days ago, he left on deployment again (his last deployment, yay!!!), and won't be back until July 3rd. I also started my diet four days ago, and so far so good! My ticker doesn't show any weight loss yet because I'm only weighing once a week (three more days til my first weigh-in!!) but I can already tell a difference with how I feel. I have more energy since I've been eating healthy and exercising (I haven't cheated once yet), and I don't feel bloated at all. I'm definitely looking forward to my weigh-in.
I'm excited to try on bikinis this summer. I'm excited to buy a cute summer wardrobe. And I'm soooo excited for my husband to see a new, confident, fit me!! :)
Any other military wives out there? I would love to connect with some people other people here also making changes! :)
