I just want to do things right this year. I did not introduce myself last year and failed to make connections with the community. It was probably why I failed to make any real changes in my weight loss.
This year, I want to really make some connections and make progress toward losing the 80lbs I need to lose to get to my ideal weight. I feel good about everything. My family recently joined the YMCA and we have been going consistently since joining. I feel that I have the support I need to be successful this year and hopefully my Spark Family will reinforce my family support.
I am currently 41 and will turn 42 in February. I actually love exercising but I also love to eat. So my big challenge is to eat in moderation and meet my calorie range each day. I will have to take it one day at a time.
I am an educator and currently teach middle school (8th grade). For the most part, I love teaching...it can be very challenging and it is time-consuming especially when you teach the majority at-risk kids like I do. Hence, part of my problem. I am usually so consumed with my job that I place exercise on the back burner and the stress results in my eating lots of comfort foods. So I got to get a hold on my priorities regarding work. It is definitely going to be a big challenge, but I am determined to get back in shape this year. I use to be an avid jogger and 5k participant. I miss packing the car up and heading off to small towns to participate in their races... ah!....the glory days!
So, I gotta get my tale in gear and make it happen this year. I don't want to spend my forties out of shape and I want to set a good example for my 9 year old son.
