Thank you everyone who has taken the time to reply. I really appreciate the support. I hope the triglycerides come down quickly. They were 3,300. Really! With it that high, you'd have thought I had been eating three triple cheeseburgers three times a day, but while my diet was not perfect and we did eat out too much, that wasn't the case. I think I have leaky gut syndrome that contributed to it. I get blood work done in about another week, so we'll see. Day seven and still haven't cheated. I did have half of one chip today, but in no way tempted to eat more. Never thought I'd say that, but when death is knocking, you do wake up. Walked 1.5 hilly miles with a friend, - in the rain, with an umbrella, in 46 degree weather. Again, never thought I could do it, and have a friend who would be supportive enough to do it with me! I did start a home page. How can I get back to it easily? I can't seem to find the button.

Welcome to SparkPeople! My name is Sarah and I’ve been a member of this site off and on for a few years, and I do love it. I was here a few years back and lost 20 pounds, then went away and stopped using the site and gained all that weight back. I have tried other diets and found that what I truly love about SparkPeople is the community, I believe it really helps keep you on track. Utilize the community here, add friends, join teams and challenges and post to the message boards. Best wishes on your journey!

Welcome. As someone who's fought high triglycerides, I can tell you that it's very easy to see positive results. You can impact them very quickly. A couple of weeks. Use them as a goal. Stick to the plan and if that's a goal, you'll see results. I'm a big fan of the fast break goals. Like the triglycerides, you can achieve them in the short term. Hitting a short term success will help distract you from fears of the long term goal of making complete and permanent changes to your life. You got this one. Trust me. If you're playing by the "rules", you'll see and feel results pretty quickly!

One week ago, my doctor told me I could die any day if I didn't follow a diet and exercise. That was a turning point and wake up call. I've been able to fully do it everyday! I had massively elevated triglycerides. I get my next set of bloodwork drawn in one week.
