Welcome to SparkPeople!! This is a wonderful site with so many resources like articles, trackers, and community SparkTeams to help give you support and keep you motivated. See how many SparkPoints you can get each day and this will help you find and use many of the tools of the site. Make sure you make a SparkPage as this is how you can have people post to you to help inspire you! Please remember this is a marathon, not a sprint. It is not a diet, but a lifestyle change. I am down 71 lbs with SparkPeople and I feel so much lighter and stronger and healthier every day! You can do it! Best of luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle!

WELCOME! Nice to have you with us! I love my Sparkworld, and so will you!

The best place to find a Sparkfriend for support and to share your journey, is on a Sparkteam. Top of your page, the orange column, go to Community. Click on Sparkteams. You can type an interest in or just browse through the many teams until you find one that gets your interest.

Here are tips I put together to share with each new Sparkperson I meet. I hope it will be a help to you as you work toward reaching your goals!

First of all, think about editing your Sparkpage to change your private setting to public on your Sparkpage. Great place to send you encouragement, support and Sparkgoodies! It is also the place you can keep us updated on reaching your goals!

The site can be overwhelming, take your time. Learn one topic at a time, when you get comfortable with it, move on to another area of the site. Soon you will be using all the tools SP has to offer, and loving it!

If you get stuck, and have a technical question about the site, here is a link to the Customer Support Team that is eager to help you:

(only technical questions, if you have a nutrition, fitness, or health question, post the question in the Forums, other Spark members will eagerly try to help you!

Use your Spark Points (click on view SparkPoints) as a map to the site. It is a good way to learn your way around and you can earn points to send yourself or others Sparkgoodies.

Go back to your Start Page if you get lost, you can get almost anywhere from there.

Be sure to use the nutrition tracker. You can ensure you are getting the proper nutrients as well as tracking your caloric intake and this is so important to any weight loss journey.

Never "diet" again! Keep focusing on living a healthier lifestyle!

Read the book, THE SPARK for guidance, motivation and inspiration!

Log on everyday to stay focused!

Greetings,

I've been diligently posting on here for the last week and now I'm stumbling my way around the message boards trying to figure out where I make friends that will keep me motivated and who will be excited to share stories and success back and forth. I'm Samantha, I'm 27 years old, I have to tiny humans ages 7 and 3 (both boys, soon to be 8 in December and 4 in November), and a husband-to-be who is not only working out with me daily, but even joined sparkpeople with me when he really doesn't need to (he's my height and 70lbs lighter).
