Welcome to Spark People!
I understand the thing about the treadmill. It helps me to have my favorite upbeat music playing while I use the treadmill. Try starting out with 10 minutes and gradually increasing the duration. Also, it helps to mix it up regarding the types of exercise you do so you won't get bored. You will notice a sense of exhilaration as you continue to exercise.

Best wishes to you.

welcome Sharon to spark people...start with committing to 10 minutes 3 days a weeks on your treadmill. do it when you won't be bothered or can find excuses not to do it.....
I do mine at 4.am...make small changes that you can live with. or maybe walk on the tread mill when your favorite TV show is on....challenge yourself and make sure you reward your self....there are a lot of article her that can give you ideas.....
it's not easy but it can be done.....read my story on my spark page, you might find a tip or two.

good luck

Hi everyone, my name is Sharon and I am new to SparkPeople. I have gained 50 lbs. since I met my husband 6 years ago. I used to call it my "Happy Fat," but now I am concerned for my health. I am pre-hypertensive and would like to be healthier and prevent from having a stroke or a heart attack.I own a brand new treadmill, but I have no motivation to exercise, I know I need to, so if anyone has any suggestions to get me motivated I am all for it. Thanks Sharon
