welcome back to sparkpeople..we are always glad to have you back i am going to tell you a few little secrets here that i hope you will tkae to heart (actually they aren't secrets but that got you huh??) lol this is the place to get it gone and keep it that way and although it's wonderful to alrways have internet access not everyone does so let's make this so you can do it and get encouragement from those around you because they will NOTICE your success
first sparkpeople is NOT a diet..it is a way to relearn our eating habits so we become healthy and move and you need to learn to drink that water..it is the elixor of life (that was ahrd one for me but i do it anyway because i see the good it has done for me) now you are seeing here a person me 378-105,,yep 273 pounds gone and maintaining here at sparkpeople now for 2 years. i didn't lose it all here and i went up and down for years before i came to sparkpeople but this is the place..i log my food..every bite still before it hits my mouth and i weigh and measure everything still (yes i carry a collapsible camp measuring cup in my purse) and a portion of meat is the size of the unwrapped deck of playing cards also in my purse...i am never going back to what i was and i don't even want to head i that direction and i have found over the long run you CAN'T eyeball portions. ahh now for celebrations..you know i never met a piece of cake or a scoop of ice cream i didn't just love.,.and i do celebrations..but you know those aren't everyday things and i have never known one meal or one dessert on these occasions to make a change in your weight that is permanent..you can't do it all the time but once in a while do it with no guilt...and me well i am diabetic and i love sweets and i goand i have two bites of cake and the part with the icing roses is my favorite and i pitch the rest in the trash i do that becasue it allows me to be like everyone else and join in but there are limits..and i move..the exercises are trqaditional ones and also more nontraditional and i make time for them because they make me feel better not righteous about doing them but feel better and at 62 that is important to me and of course i come here daily but when you can'tdo that you can still journal and when you do get here ask all the questions you don't have answers to and be a part of whatever is going on and read the articles when you can..if you have friends have them print out some interesting ones for you and that will be someone on your side who will help you with the motivation and i am always here when you do have access sparkmail me anytime with any questions the lady mary
