emoticon Hi Heather-it's good to have you onboard!
You've got sooo much going for you! Your age is definately a plus! I sure wish I'd have had SP when I was young, it could have saved me from a lot of weight-related issues, medical conditions, etc!

Another thing in your favor is the support & encouragement of so many fellow Sparkers!
By staying connected here, you will be amazed at how helpful everyone is! I like your last statement about looking for support AND helping others too! I find that the more I give on here, the more I receive!

Be sure to check out some teams-they're great for building friendships, getting and giving advice, chit-chatting or just about anything you need! And I believe there's quite a few Weight Watchers members here.

I have some tips on my Spark page that you can read if you like, they are some things that have helped me out so far on my journey!

I wish you all the best-getting healthy isn't always easy, but it is soo worth the time & effort, AND SO ARE YOU!!

Welcome to spark Heather! There are plenty of people here willing to offer support. You might want to consider creating a sparkpage, so that others can leave you motivational and encouraging quotes, and just some friendly hello's. Using the fitness and nutrition trackers will help keep accountable to yourself. I have found that the challenge teams, and there are a lot to choose from, are great for keeping me motivated. Best wishes on your trainning and goals!

Hi Heather!

Don't think in terms of anything too far ahead for the first little while. I know that made me a lot more stressed out at the beginning. I definately recommend mini goals, or streaks. Water is the hardest for me, but I'm getting much better at exercising!

Good luck on your journey!

It ain't over 'til it's over... when's that?

Hello my name is Heather and I am ready to lose weight! My biggest problem is motivation. I am 20 years old and i don't want to be over weight for the rest of my life. I also just want to be healthy i currently weigh 216 and I want to try and lose at least 30 pound by my 21 birhtday which is in 6 months. I also want to train for a half marathon. I know for a fact that i am doing on in September and I also want to run a lot of 5k races. I am really nervous about failure and I am currently doing weight watchers. I am going to try my hardest! I am looking for support and I will try and help others too!

Mediterranean Chicken with Orzo (Chef Meg's Makeover)
Submitted By: CHEF_MEG

This healthful Mediterranean dish got a makeover from Chef Meg. She lowered the salt content and added parsley and capers for freshness and flavor. She also reduced the cooking time to keep the orzo from getting too soft and used plum tomatoes instead of canned tomatoes to keep the dish from getting too thin. Try serving this with steamed broccolini. Full Recipe
