Starting to feel like I'm losing my motivation. Had a couple of tiring & aggravating days at work - nothing major - just a bunch of stupid things piling up on me. I decided not to workout yesterday. Ate popcorn instead. Decide on the way home tonight that I wouldn't work out again today. Even as I'm making that decision, I was thinking 'here we go'. Anyways, I changed my mind and did the full workout (yay) but I think I am going to have to be very careful or I will lose my way again.

Back home from our mini trip to Vancouver. Didn't eat great; actually got sick the first night I was there. Back on track today and even though I worked all day, came home and worked out. Totally against my will, I might add. I just felt that if I didn't workout tonight; I souls totally start falling (jumping) off the wagon. But the energy kicked in as soon as I started working out and I feel great now. Yahoo! That's 3 weeks - halfway to my first goal.

I haven't been able to sleep for a couple of days: house too hot, stress ? I don't know but I am feeling low energy and lousy. Didn't work out yesterday but forced myself to do it today. I so want to stay on track this time. Never got a lot of energy going tonight but made it through

I'm done week two: met my exercise goals and calories. No junk food. A minor miracle. I am concerned about next week: this week was super stressful at work and some things are still not resolved. ( I'm actually shocked that I stuck with everything this week ) And my family and I are going to Vancouver for 3 days next week so that means eating in restaurants, not working out, etc. I'm just going to try my best.

I am in Cookeville at Brad's. Alexis came back hime two days before I was to leave. So much to tell you....expect a long email soon. My Kindle works here in hus WiFi...my laptop does not. Hate trying to type long messages on this virtual keypad, with one finger. Should be home Saturday.....3 days and counting!!!!!

Keep it up! I need some of your motivation. Emotions all over the place have NOT helped my emotionally eating triggers. So ridiculous!!!!!

Yes, I did hypnosis years ago to quit smoking and I found it very relaxing. It really does help with positive thoughts. I've considered going; it's still in the back of my mind. I've been avoiding the expense, because there's always something else to pay for, isn't there? And I suppose I've also thought I should just be able to do this. In fact, I think that ALL the time.
I have really been working on thinking positive thoughts lately. I think it's a big part of success. I just let my mind wander too often to negative thoughts and i'm not a negative person at all; only she. It comes to assessing myself...
I'm glad you're doing we'll on the challenge! I'm so impressed with you; I would never be brave enough to send in a shot of me in a bikini - not even at my best weight! You are very inspiring to me.
New pants - well, it is what it is and I know that so I need to something about it. I'm going to visualize myself in that change room every time I feel like sitting on the couch & eating chips. That's my new motivator - lol.
Will losing weight help with your vertigo at all? I don't really associate it as a byproduct of being overweight but if it is, one more reason for us to stick to it. Have to get you feeling better :)
Always so good to talk to you. I plan to work out again in the morning before I go to work so I'll talk to you tomorrow!

Thank you! Yeah, just having to do what I can to NOT give myself an excuse to fall off this challenge. With this challenge, I am having to give stat updates and will have to send another pic midway through and again at the end....to a very nice looking, fit man, no less....so yeah, that is keeping me on the straight and narrow. LOL But, I do always seem to do better with challenges...ones that really hold me accountable.

Question...have you ever tried hypnosis? I have a MP3 audio I just got from a book off Kindle. It might be worth a try. And they just emailed me another one with positive affirmations. Now, I know when I keep up with the positive affirmations, they help...that's how I lost the 50 lbs. I listened to the ones I recorded in my own voice first thing every morning and before bed. It really does seem to change the negative thoughts in our heads. So, again, why would I let that fall off my radar? Only thing I could think of is because it takes work to do it and I never seem to want to take that extra time to just stop and do it. Crazy! Plus, I still feel a lot of fighting within me...the old fears and such that always make me just stay where I am. I wish I knew exactly what I was so afraid of. Another craaazzzyyyy! If you'd like those audios...send me an email address or if I can attach them on the Sparkpeople email I can do it there.

How are you feeling? Everything healed up? I am so sorry about the new pants. I wish I had the right words to say. Just try not to beat yourself up about it. Let it be...tell yourself it's okay and they will be taken in before you know from weight loss. Hang in there!!!!

All is okay here. Vertigo on the rise...trying really hard not to let it stress me out...it's winning. But it is Summer, so no surprise there. :(

So very impressed with you! Way to go on the 8 pounds and even better, so proud of you for giving up your scale! Such a great idea as I always get depressed when it doesn't move. And then I use it as an excuse to jump of the wagon.
I had to go and buy new pants for work (on Saturday) and it was a very depressing experience. I'm trying use it to motivate me, though. It would be nice to find whatever key unlocks that part of brain and finally get my act together!
I hope you're doing well. I've planned out my meals for the whole week and I've set out a schedule for my workouts. Trying my best.

AWESOME, Jake! WOOT! Now STOP! being so hard on yourself. It sounds like your life is really busy. You sound like you are on your feet a lot at work and that counts! So on days where you don't feel like a full work-out, focus on strength training for 10-15 minutes. Remember, even The Spark Guy advocates 10 minutes work-outs if that is all you can muster. As your energy soars, you will probably find yourself doing more in time. I think mostly, we need to stop beating ourselves up...that isn't working. Let's agree to accept where we are and start with 10 minutes and go from there....during that if you feel like going longer, go for it? How's that for an option??

Lost 8-lbs week one on the challenge....which the first week, a drop like that is expected. I have vowed to not touch the scale the whole 90-days but did it anyway...so sent the scale home with Brad! I don't need that as a distraction. My main focus is healthy eating and getting that branded in my head as the ONLY way to eat....a lifestyle change and I believe from there, the weight will follow...at whatever pace. I am done beating myself up. I have to say, I can feel the difference. Always can when I drink the extracted veggie juices and still drinking the Green Smoothies. Feels great! :)

FINALLY did a workout. Made it through the whole thing, too. ( much to my surprise ) I don't know what's wrong with me; I promise myself every day that I'm going get back on track but I've just been failing miserably so far. Something in my brain is holding me back, I guess...

That's awesome, Jake! I got another little portable cycler and have been using that most every day, missing very few and I've been doing squats and standing side leg lifts, etc...things like that to build my strength back up...that sure helps my balance some. Got off the yoga track again, too, but started that back up today. I signed myself up for a juicing challenge for 90 days with fitlife.tv, Drew Canole, and I had to submit before pictures in a bathing suit for the world to see. Now if THAT doesn't motivate me to show some real results, I don't know what will. Will be 100% throughout the whole challenge except on one cheat day a week where I can eat cooked but has to be made from whole, fresh foods...no processed or canned anything or restaurant or fast foods either! I will probably skip the cooked day because in the Summer, I have absolutely no problem being raw...in fact I prefer it. Back when I ate unhealthy foods all the time, I lived on chips, salsa and sandwiches...anything that wasn't cooked. The challenge started yesterday....WOOT! I am actually very excited it! :)

We're going to get there one way or another, Jake!!! :)

Just did a little stretching today; trying to get back into it. Planned out my dinners for the week; I think that's one of my major downfalls. I often get home late and just eat whatever because I'm starving.

Hi Jake!

I know you will be back on track...just take things slowly, you don't want to crash! You can do it! :)

My Dad's surgery went well. He is in ICU for today for observation but he may be able to go home as early as tomorrow. He was still recovering so my Mom and sisters have not been able to see him. I am so thankful all went well! Unfortunately, we lost an Aunt this morning. My Great Aunt Kate....she was one of Daddy's favorite Aunt's...now both of his favorites are gone. :( We knew hospice had come in earlier this week, but we did not dare tell Daddy. He needed to remain in good spirits before the surgery. We won't tell him for a few days now either. My sister will help my Mom send flowers when we get the funeral arrangement information. Mom will decide when it's best to let Daddy know. Since things are cyclical...surely we are due for good things to come now for awhile. Here's to hoping!

Alexis is on top of the world. The baby was born on the 26th.... 8-lbs and 20 inches. I have not seen her. I hate that I can't share in Alexis' joy....but I know why I am staying out of it and I am certain it is the right decision. But it doesn't make it any easier. I want to be a Grandmother and I want to share in Alexis' happiness. It's killing me... :(

Other than that, nothing new. Starting a Green Smoothie Challenge April 1st on Facebook and have some others on my friend's list doing it as well, including Brad....he loves them. I have not been drinking them daily as I should. Hoping this gets me back on track. I have, however, been juicing every day, so at least I am still getting a lot of veggies and some fruits daily. But Green Smoothies are great meal replacers and chockful of such healthy, nutrient feeding veggies and fruits. Need to make them a lifestyle daily living thing. Plan to juice two 8-oz veggie juices a day, drink 2 24-oz Green Smoothies and eat one meal a day...as a lifestyle, not a diet.

So sorry to hear that, Jake. Hoping all is well now. A lot going on here since Friday....Dad had a TIA mini stroke. I am going crazy being stuck here in TN and just waiting to hear what's going on from my sisters every day. :( I have no excuse for anything else....just somehow lost my punch to want to do anything.

I am back, too! :) Fell off the wagon pretty much due to so much stress and just basically gave in to the emotional eating for the majority of 2012. Gotta get over that somehow. But in the meantime, I need to work out. I am still staying relatively vegan so that part is good....except on binges. THANK GOD for limited disability income and not driving because I know I would have binged much more. There are blessings in everything!!! Signed up for the Coach Nicole January Challenge...actually excited to start it on the 6th. I always did well and stayed focused and committed when doing challenges. Committed to keep signing up for new ones every time one ends!

Happy to see you here still...sorry I was MIA!!!! Happy 2013!!!

Hi Jake-

Been having it rough for a number of days....HATE August and the horrid humidity! UGH At least August doesn't last forever!

We are headed to FL tomorrow until next Tuesday. We are driving down tomorrow and driving back Tuesday. We will be there for my parent's 50th Anniversary and my Dad's 71st birthday. I am excited. Leary about August and FL....but I am already suffering here, so....50th Anniversary is sooo worth it...I want to be there. Looking forward to it. Alexis is driving us down...including the dog and bird. Daddy only has dial up so I won't be on til I get back. I need to get my groove back on when I get back. Been working on a plan and hoping I can implement it fully including exercise in September...surely it will start feeling better outside by then!

Busy weekend for me as it's a long weekend here and beautiful, hot weather so we are super busy! Just wanted to check in quickly.

I have no time to exercise but doing really well on the eating side. I'm going to bite the bullet and weigh myself tomorrow; it's been a couple of months.

How are you doing? Hope you're having a great (and relaxing) weekend!

Got my work out done; 90% good; 10% felt like I was dying...!!! oh well. I hear that if you do it on a regular basis, it gets easier

I've done well the last couple of days and I'm working out tonight... but honestly, have I accomplished anything since January? trying not to let it get me down; trying to use it as motivation instead....!!! I'm worried that I may have said that before - lol

Hi Jake-

I understand completely. Summer's are tough for me, but I still have some good days where I still don't do anything, no excuses on those days. BLAH! I am tired of fighting this too. I just don't get why it's so hard. When I eat good foods, I feel amazing. When I exercise, I feel great for hours. So what's the problem????????? Grrrrrrr Wish I was more support. Just one of those days that aren't so good and it's got me downright ornery. :(

You will get it together....especially when Summer is over you will get it all together so by next Summer you will have a schedule that works for you in place. I believe in you!!!!
