Most definitely. It is one of those things to remember these choices over the high calorie ones.

I love drinking the "ICE" drinks! They are very tasty without the calories.

I was hunger for some ice cream, not suppose to have due to the high sugar context. I tried waiting it out. So I made a smoothie with ice cubes, some ripe bananas I had and put in some slim fast protein mix and blended it up. It hit the spot and now back to working on eating healthier.

Lots of yard work done so lots of water drank too.

Good Job, But for me it will bring negative results, because i'm a kind of a person who needs to focus on one goal at a time, plus my target will take months, so i need to stay focused and not making big effort in short time.

I've only had ONE pop this week so far! (not counting Sunday). I'm trying to see how far I can go. Today is one of my daughters' 16th b-day and as family tradition, we will take her out for steak on Friday. I'm trying to hold out until then for my pop.
The Propel really helps me. It IS cheaper than my pop, so....

Maybe I'll try that bit of lemon in water this week, too. Any other suggestions?

And we all lived happily ever after...

I was into the dietitian yesterday. She was comparing how much natural sugar was in apple versus the advanced formula slim fast products. She wants me eating between 60-85 grams of protein each day. We went through my food diary to see where I need to kick it up a notch and what I better stay away from because the food value is not worth it.
Here's to craving out a healthier food plan. I am good at getting my water in.

okay, so....
I went to the doctor's today and brought my bottle of Propel so she could read the label and tell me if she thought this was worth starting to drink.

lol.......ohhhh my goodness....I got the unexpected. lol

She immediately said, 'Don't bother', "Just drink water with a bit of lemon". "How much does that bottle cost?" "Sooo...if you drink one bottle a day that is $30 a month. Just save your money. Never spend your money on things you don't need. ...." And she kept going and going and going with all kinds of wise FINANCIAL ADVICE!!!!!
emoticon emoticon emoticon

My 21 yr old son accompanied me because my husband had to work. I need him as a 'translator' of sorts, because, not only am I hard of hearing, my doctor is also foreign and has a strong, yet melodic, accent.

Boy! She sure gave us (him) a lesson on wise spending.
"Is there a doctor in the house?" lol

I blog today, if you interested in the rest of the appointment.

I love this doctor. I call her Mrs. Doc because her HUSBAND is a psychiatrist who works on the OTHER half of her building.

I had enjoyed the crystal light added to water. Naturally, the doctor is encouraging just plain ole "Adam's ale'. I been working overtime to drink plain water. I been hesitating to add other fruit to the water in case I want to go back to the flavored water I was doing. Another adjustment to get use to.

Thank you!
I've been experimenting with Propel which has electrolytes and vitamins. Zero calories. I had a pretty bad headache the first day I drank it, which could be the sugar substitute....or because I went 'too long' without my pop caffeine.

I solved that, by drinking a pop. lol. Alllll better!

Since then I have had more Propel and haven't gotten the headaches.
I'll just go back and forth. Glad to find some options.

If you enjoy pop & want to replace it with flavored water, the one with the most flavor is called Sparkling Ice & is cheapest at Costco with 24 bottles for $16.00. It is a sparkling water & each bottle is the size of 2 cans of pop, I drink 1 bottle daily 1/2 at a time & put back in the fridge, it has not gone flat the same day. They also sell it in larger family size bottles in many grocery stores & single bottles in grocery stores, single bottles are $1.00 each. It is made with 2 different fruit flavors in each bottle. It tastes very good, much more flavor then regular flavored water. Most sparkling water is much better in taste & makes a similar substitute for pop. For other water I put fresh lemon juice in a water jug daily.

I have chronic kidney disease and low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years..I am 54 years old. I am starting the Fall Challenge ,Firecrackers Team,on P.S.T. My exercise plan is 2400 minutes a month.I do walking, ride the bike at the gym 65 minutes, 3 times a week & go ice skating for 90 minutes 2 times a week for people over 50. My name is Linda. WEight is not accurate, it was weught 2 weeks a go but went up & down. Will track on the weekend & majke the loss accurate.

We continue to work on the bathroom remodel. Assisted in getting half the OSB on the ceiling. Helped bring up the water lines so when we get that far to hook up the vanity. After Tony cut and carried it in. I screwed down the cement board.
Worked on another section of de-cluttering the dining room.
Walked the dog.
Ate the approved dietitian menu of 4 ounces of protein and 4 ounces of salad.
Studies for my exam. Lots to get done with that to test out.

Hm...I literally just finished making a list of FIVE things I need to work on. lol

Let's see if I can come up with 2 more.

1. Have a plan, keep to the plan.
2. Use flavored water instead of pop.
3. Keep to swim schedule of 3x per week and rest days
4. Walk EVERY day ...not an option
5. TONE on scheduled day.
ummmm...
6. Eat salads
7. Organize the new genealogy and craft room. One step at a time.

And we all lived happily ever after...

Good idea! Here are mine:

1) slow down enough to do self care (today is try on clothes that I was too big for last month)
2) find a way to squeeze in exercise, walking or swimming
3) double check water intake, should stay at 120 oz
4) pre plan restaurant meal and track it ahead of time
5) track every bite taken
6) only eat food I've brought to work
7) exercise: walking/swimming/gym

Thanks for the idea!

I'll have to think more about this. I have 2 goals for 7 days:

Do at least one resistance band exercise a day
Dance to music 10 minutes a day. I walked today, but I love music and dancing.

Interesting idea!
I will often announce that I am off sweets for 10 days, or no desserts til the end of the month. It is easier to commit to a short term goal for sure. I am going to journal about this for myself later, and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the inspiration!

have doing a little challenge with myself and wanted to invite others to join me. Here is what i am doing. For me long term challenges like 30 days are always to hard. I need short term goals. So i figured 7 days and 7 goals seemed just about right.

Guidelines
1. Write down your 7 goals every morning then check them off as you go or at the end of the day ( meet every goal its only 7 days)

Here are my goals:

1. Drink 60-100 oz of water
2. Eat between a 8 hour window ( 10-6pm)
3. Dry Body Brush
4. Juice ( Green veggies with lemon)
5. Do Kegels (30-50 a day)
6. Exercise ( Intervals, Weights, Yoga for rest days)
7. No Pasta, Bread, Desserts, or Rice ( fruit, veggies, and honey okay)

Those are my goals. I know i can do anything for 7 days. So excited to get started and reach this short term goal! My goals don't have to be your goals. Pick 7 things you think you can do for 7 days and join me!
