SHERYLDS: Love your peanut idea. I love peanuts but can easily eat too many too fast.
My inner child loves cereal. And not healthy cereals-I like things like Lucky Charms. Instead of eating a large bowl (with probably 2-3 servings) I occasionally measure out a serving (or 1/2 of a serving) and use it as a part of a snack or as dessert. I know cereal isn't really that healthy, Usually, I would rather have cereal than chips, cookies, ice cream or lots of other unhealthy foods.

My inner child finally learned portion control. teehee.
I'm a big fan of Nutella. Love the stuff ! about a month ago, I bought a small jar, on sale. When I was overweight, my inner child wouldn't have thought twice about inhaling the jar. Where's that jar now ? Still sitting on my shelf, unopened. I haven't had an urge to open it.
Now, that doesn't mean I haven't had urges for chocolate. I've just had mini Reese's peanut butter cups instead. LOL..
I also have a box of Ritz crackers, unopened. Some days, I've had to resist the urge to by more than one box of something in case that box of something sat on the shelf for too long. Maybe my inner child has finally learned that I don't have to eat like the food wont be there tomorrow.

I wasn't a peanut butter fan as a kid...but I started making up for lost time. As a result, I looked for sales and stocked up when I found a great price...the problem is, that like everything else....when it's in the house, it calls out to my inner child. I found that buying the peanuts in the shell, unsalted, is less of a problem for me. No added ingredients. 20 peanuts = 1 serving. It takes time to shell the peanuts, and it fills the bowl...makes my inner child happy.
