Read labels carefully - they even add sugar to tinned corn which is sweet enough already. The best approach is to eat clean with food in its natural state and avoid processed foods. I also find that if you rely on artificial sweeteners too much you learn to like the taste of really sweet as they seem to sweeten things far more than sugar.

Good for you for doing the purge, I went cold turkey for a few weeks. I lost 16 lbs, they I gave in a drank a soda. My cravings returned with a vengeance and now sugar has crept back in. It's time to purge again.
Enjoy fruits for as long as you can stand it, then try some sugar substitutes, otherwise you will go back to high sugared foods. Portion control is learned and takes awhile, we have been trying for a long time, haven't we?
Plan for tomorrow, but enjoy the heck out of today.
Your best bet is to eat whole foods and avoid the processed stuff. Especially the reduced fat foods as they tend to add sugar because taking out the fat also takes out the flavor. Natural sugars like those found in fruits are fine, as you know, its really the refined sugars that you need to worry about.
You'll never regret the workout you do, only the one you don't.

I have decided that I am consuming way too much sugar. I know that one of the best ways to eliminate sugar is to just not have it in my home. I have gone thru my frig, freezer and cabbards and either thrown out or given away any foods with 4 or more grams of sugar. Any other suggestions?
