There have been a number of studies done showing that doing 10 minutes of aerobic exercise several times a day is as beneficial as doing it all at once. Put 10 minutes exercise in the search box at the top of the page and it will bring up several excellent SP articles discussing this.
This is how I got started on my exercise program and I recommend it.
Youtube has a ton of free workout videos - all kinds, all levels - from in home walking with Leslie Sansome, to yoga, pilates, zumba, weights, Jane Fonda, Denise Austin....pretty much whatever form you can think of is there
I don't know how your knee is, or if you have any certain restrictions, but the in home walking might be ok? Her one mile is about 18 minutes or so.
Just go to youtube and type in the key search words in the search bar ;)
The best exercise in the world is to bend down and help someone up.
I'm staying at my parents for a few days while their out of town and really my only exercise option is to use their exercise bike. Because I'm not used to it I found it very hard! I'm also five weeks post surgery from having a total knee replacement. So what I'm doing is ten minutes at a time and I do this 3 or 4 times throughout the day. Is this beneficial as opposed to doing it all at once??
