no, I walk a lot so I'm either in my work clothes because I walk during my lunch hour everyday and if I'm at home I use a old tea shirt and a track pants. My sneakers however is a little pricey.

I don't have anything special to exercise in really, well except my walking shoes. The majority of my exercise comes from walking, and for that I just wear tshirts and shorts.

I guess it depends on what you do, but I have an entire drawer dedicated to workout clothes. I call it my second wardrobe. I like the moisture wicking fabric and I like that I have actual outfits so that I can look kind of sporty and cute if I have to go to the store or something after the gym. When I started spinning I realized that I needed tighter pants. I don't buy expensive things - I found that I like Old Navy Active the best - but it's totally worth it for me to have the extra support in the clothes and not look dumpy in oversized t-shirts.

Sometimes. I just bought a lightweight top and shorts so I can keep them packed in a duffle bag in the car along with workout shores and socks so no excuses. I can head to PT after leaving the office.
And I am beginning a swim program 2 x a week so I wanted a pullover jacket to put on afterward; bought a new swim cap to go with either of my swimsuits. Planning to get corrective goggles soon too. Right now I wear an old pair of eyeglasses while swimming. I gave up contacts some years ago and hate swimming when I can't see clearly.
Before my knee gave out, when I would just walk at the track or near my home, I'd simply put on the comfy clothes the weather required. For (hula) hooping in my house, I wear a supportive bra, tee shirt or tank, and some loose capris.
I think that sometimes, it helps with motivation when you were the "right" outfit to get yourself geared in that direction. Sloppy clothes might make you feel unworthy and so less likely to stick with the program. I think bright colored clothing makes me feel special and body conscious so I hope to use that to my advantage. emoticon

Good sports bras are a necessity! It hurts otherwise :(

Good shoes.

Bike pants or shorts when riding, I love the extra padding :) and not getting the pants caught in the chain.

Inexpensive yoga pants and wicking tops for the rest of my work outs. I change from my nice work clothes to workout clothes when I get home and start my workout. I think it helps to make a mental change of pace for me. If I'm in my work out stuff I have to work out.

As much as I hate to sweat, when I work-out I TRY to sweat. Therefore, I don't want to subject regular clothes to multiple sweat sessions.

Plus, I like the sporty-looking stuff.

If you don't want to spend a lot, shop only the sale items. I'm just as happy with my Xersion and Champion gear as I am with my Under Armour.

Most of my working out involves a swimsuit, cap and goggles. emoticon

I do wear specific workout clothes when I do Zumba or yoga. a top that wicks and either shorts for Zumba or yoga pants. I also have Zumba specific shoes.

Part of wearing special clothes is practical; I sweat a lot and a sports-specific top that wicks is more comfortable. And part of wearing special clothes is mental. I look thinner and more fit in a fitted workout shirt than I do in an old tee-shirt, and because I have bright, fun colors, I feel happy when I put my workout gear on. Changing into my workout gear sets me up for a mind shift so that I can focus on working out and not let my mind wander to other things.

Yes I wear Kangoo Jumps when I walk emoticon (cushions joints etc, supports ankles and doubles calories burned). Otherwise I wear whatever clothes the weather dictates.

For road biking I wear bike shorts/pants, jersey and bike shoes with cleats to fit clipless pedals and protective helmet. emoticon

They aren't expensive or fancy, but I do have performance shirts/capris that I wear as well as sports bras. I sweat like a pig and need the wicking power, so to speak. I also have loose skin that bothers me when I run or do high intensity workouts, so I need some compression as well.

Now that I'm getting more into running, I'm considering investing in some good compression shorts/tops.

If you are comfortable with what you wear now, I wouldn't invest any more into special clothes.

Yes, especially if I'm doing cardio or am going to be sweating a lot. I personally find it motivating to have fun clothes that I own just for wearing during my workouts (plus I need the extra support of a good sports bra for cardio), so for me it's worth the investment. Others might not find it worth the money.

Just comfortable, breathable, yet supportive clothes.

I have clothes I pretty much specifically wear for Pilates, but only because they are more closely fitted to my body than what I would normally wear. I just wear regular shirts and yoga pants. Mine are kind of expensive because anytime you buy a women's tall or long anything it costs an arm and a leg more.
My other main form of exercise is swimming, and I do spend quite a bit on suits, but again, it's hard to find suits (even tankinis) that are long enough for me. So once I find something that works I tend to stick with it even if it costs more.

I don't really have many clothes that are only used for exercise though the ones I wear are appropriate for the exercise I do. I do have some sports bras and it is nice to use those so my regular bras don't get all sweaty. I do have shoes that I only use for exercise.

I think if you are comfortable in a tshirt and shorts when you exercise then you don't need to spend more money.

I wear mostly cheap stuff from Old Navy when I work out, just T-shirts and leggings. But I did invest in two expensive sports bras. I wear size 40J, and good support there is NOT optional. And I invested in decent walking shoes and trainers because my feet are flat, and I am prone to shin splints, heel spurs, and severe arch pain.

I wear a loose fitting cotton short and a regular tee shirt in the summer, in the winter I wear a long sleeve tee shirt, yoga pants and a down vest. I wear the same clothes everyday until laundry day. I haven't spent any big money on my workout clothes but one day I will, they sure are cute.

Depends on the workout. I have special running clothes that I use, I invested in a good sports bra and a good pair of running shoes and I wear clothing especially for running. Working out at home I wear whatever is comfortable.

idk... it may depend on what you do, to workout. I started by just wearing any old tee and shorts that I already owned. I do some brisk walking with hills, for cardio. And the cold clammy sweaty cotton t-shirt got to me. So I used some "performance" shirts as a reward for working out. But I bought them when they were on sale for cheap at Kohl's. Then I needed a jacket too. Again, a reward for working out & purchased on sale. And my regular bras just weren't cutting it for the workouts. I'd sweat and need to wash the bra after every use. If I was going to buy some more bras, might as well get some sports bras. Then I needed long sleeved (performance) shirts for the wintertime. Those I got at Walmart for 6 bucks on Black Friday. Gradually over a period of time, I've accumulated a whole pile of workout clothes.

Or do you just throw on a tshirt and shorts? Do you have specific sports bras, tops, booty shorts etc. just for working out? Is it worth then extra expense?

I am thinking of buying some but I don't spend hours and hours working out so I was thinking maybe it isn't worth it?

What do you think?
