I did a quick on line search and most sites did not recommend any gastric surgeries for weight loss for people with Crohn's disease.
One reason cited is the frequent need for steroids in the average patient with Crohn's disease which can delay healing and cause stomach problems.
"According to MayoClinic.com, nearly 3 out of 4 people with Crohn's disease will need surgery for the condition. As many as half of Crohn's sufferers will need a second procedure. This greatly reduces the possibility of lap band surgery as a weight loss option."
If you are considering this procedure I would discuss it with your gastroenterologist for the latest recommendations. What I have read did not sound very promising.
