emoticon There are alot of crazy trends going on these days, I really haven't seen people doing this in my area though. I personally would never do that! Why ever would you go into public with what you sleep in on? Too lazy to get yourself together before heading out? You don't care at all about your appearance? I don't get that! I'm trying to get a grip on all the crazy things some people are doing these days, but haven't quite found how to have peace about it yet, but working on it, thinking, how would God want me to view this?

One time I saw a young woman at the supermarket in line behind me wearing the full ensemble of pajamas, fuzzy slippers and belted bathrobe. God bless her, she looked sad. I mean, truly sad, like she was going thru something.

EDIT: Not saying that people who wear PJs in public are going thru something, but this young woman appeared to be!

Makes no difference to me, wear whatever makes your happy---Do your unique thang!

I did wear my PJ's to take out the trash. Where I live no one saw me. I do not do that on a regular basis. Seeing someone with their PJ's on in public looks sloppy to me.

I've come to the conclusion that people wear pj's in public to get attention. They may say they don't care what others think but there is no better way to get noticed than to look out of the ordinary.

I've seen this plenty, and it is one of the few things I am judgmental about. There are plenty of comfortable clothes that allow you to look like you didn't just roll out of bed and head to the store. I'm also judgy about wearing hair curlers out and about like the mall or grocery store. I'm like - you're getting pretty to go somewhere, but just not here.

Hahahaha Killer Joe! Look at Alyssa Milano giving that Paparazi Stank eye!

She maybe wearing pajama pants and uggs. At least her hair is styled and she looks like she is wearing make up.

I wonder if she had a photo shoot that day with many costume changes and that outfit was the most comfortable to wear?

"We are continuing, as a culture, on this downward spiral of style," Kelly said, "I think that there will always be a group of people, a strong percentage of the population, who will care about their appearance. But now we have permission not to care." from http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/19/living/pajama-pants-stretchy-clothes-fashion/

I like that I have given myself "permission to not care". I have cared SO much about doing the right thing all of the time, it is a relief to just say - I'm only concerned about MY well being. If I am going to the coffee shop late Sunday morning. I'm clean, my clothing is clean, and my body is covered by comfort. I am not trying to impress the guy at the Starbucks counter. I just want my cup of tea and a newspaper.

I live in a college town, so many of the people wear their jammies when they need to do wash either when they go home to visit "mom" or can't afford a laundry mat. I think the low income do the same- either buy food or use the money for the laundrymat. I don't have a problem with this, except for the people that have horrible hygine! Please take a bath and brush your teeth and hair before going out- Please make sure your jammies are presentable with no torn out backside or poop stains, seen this to many times in stores. Personally, I left my jammies on when I was sick and stayed in the house-never wore them shopping though.

I work in a big college town, so I see a lot of this. Here college students go to Walmart and fast food places in great PJ-wearing hordes. For the most part I think it's a phase, because the same thing happened when I was in college.

I've never understood this. It's just not how I've ever wanted to present myself to the public. I think I'm being super lazy when I don't put on at least some makeup.

People will judge negatively of people wearing PJs in public, it's up to the wearer if they care or not but if I wore them out in public I should not expect respect from anyone and that'd be my choice.

See people of all ages, shapes and sizes in their jammies- mostly pajama pants/shorts and a t-shirt, baby doll top, sports bra, or tank top and flip flops- all the time here, even during mid afternoon! Grocery shopping, at the mall, movies, Gas station etc. Some of them smell and look as if they just rolled out of bed and didn't bathe! Makes me wonder if I should get dressed and shower in the morning, lol! Nah! Not for me!

I've worn lounge pants out (darn Target for making something so comfy!). They are so soft and drape so nicely. They are black and they look really similar to regular knit pants. I have a pair of capri ones too.

But I haven't worn them from sleeping to the store. I get up, shower and then look in my closet. Some days I feel like dressing lazy.

This may be considered a negative comment, but, I do not. Jammies out in public is, to me, like wearing your pant down around your knees. It is a fashion statement. Not one that I would make, but a fashion statement. emoticon

There's a time and a place for everything under this Earth. PJs outside, is NOT one of them. We allow situations to happen and be okay, not wanting to say anything and "to each his/her own. What happened to , "it takes a village to raise a child"? Parents needs to be responsible as "people" mimic what they see, and hear. Where is the world headng to when we refuse to say anything and let it be?!?!? I like the fact that the teacher educated the student as my parents raised us no to yield to peer pressure, whatever THAT is!

Tacky. Even if you're pregnant you can at least put on a pair of polyester stretch pants in public. If you go out in pajamas you are just plain lazy.

Only Hugh Hefner wears pajamas all the time but he's a millionaire so why should he care.

I agree--pjs belong at home, and not out in public!!

I did my best today, tomorrow I will do even better.

Unless you have a mansion in palo alto and are married to a couple of 23 year olds, wearing PJs in public should be a federal offense.

However, I've been known to wear plaid pants, which from a distance could be seen as Pj bottoms. Always wear the blazer to clear doubt.

I'm pretty sure that they didn't dress like that. Still I am sure that someone looked sideways at them. In their stretchy pants and over sized husbands t-shirts.

Made it to my maintenance weight of 125 pounds.

Come on now, I can understand the slippers if her feet were swollen but to dress so inappropriately is certainly uncalled for.

I have had friends that developed preeclampsia. And the edema caused so much swelling that nothing, including their shoes fit. They didn't have a lot of money. Especially not enough to buy a brand new wardrobe for the final month.

I was raised to know better.

I was at the doctor once and a very pregnant young woman came in for her appt wearing a white spaghetti strap pj tank top trying to stretch over her belly but mostly it stayed just under her braless breasts and pj bottoms that rode underneath her belly. To finish off the lovely ensemble was a pair of filthy bedroom slippers. Now I can understand being uncomfortable while pregnant but she was disgusting. A moo moo would have been better, lol.

The apparent lack of self respect was most bothersome. Why would you allow yourself to be seen like that?

Other than the occasional neighbor ducking out for the mail in my extremely laid-back rural neighborhood, I've never seen any evidence of a fad of wearing actual pajamas in public.

Last year there seemed to be flannel slacks sold for a short time in the stores and on two occasions I did see fully dressed, clean and conventional ladies wearing these slacks, but they weren't by any stretch of the imagination pajamas lol.

But truthfully, I don't care what anyone wears, so folks with actual pajamas on would not bother me.

It is sloppy and lazy looking. I hate to see people wearing pj's in public.

Lots of people, up to middle-aged, do this where I live. I think it's gross, but expected of teenagers, but when I see a dude in his 40's wearing fleece, patterned pants in the middle of the day in public I have to wonder what the hell is wrong with him.
