I'm "that guy" who always wants to go first. Being next is exciting to me and I'm only too anxious to go next.

I do, mostly only in work situations. I don't exactly work in a positive supportive environment, so I feel like people are looking for a reason to judge me when it is my turn. Oh, well. It doesn't stop me from putting my best foot forward, but I do feel nervous.

I can and I will - watch me!

I call it anxious and it depends on the situation! I, too, like to get things out of the way as if you mess up, people aren't as apt to remember after all others takes their turns. In discussions, others may have the same answers as you. emoticon

"For example, I would usually just go without having my dining needs met rather than call out to a waiter to bring me ketchup or whatever."

Definitely me. I can deal with situations I'm forced to deal with - I've gotten used to dentists and etc, but situations where I would need to take action instead of responding - nope. Even weirder is that I can do it for other people. I may be afraid to speak another language or make a doctor's appointment or call customer service when it's on my own behalf, but when I'm doing it for friends or family, suddenly I'm fearless. If I could just develop multiple personality disorder, I might become a very capable person.

Doctor's appointments and such don't really bring on my nervousness so much but speaking to groups of people, speaking up to anyone I don't know, getting a waiter's attention, etc. are things that make me very anxious and nervous. For example, I would usually just go without having my dining needs met rather than call out to a waiter to bring me ketchup or whatever.

I just HATE it when at times I have to speak and I can see how shaky my hands get, and I hear my voice get tight and strange sounding (well it is something everyone recognizes as nerves). I hate it! You would just think I could get over it, but I'm almost 55 and I guess the inner me will just never develop the self-confidence necessary to really get over it.

I have social phobia, so yes, I do.

I think for me, I don't feel entitled to take up someone else's time. Other people can have their time at a cashier, or DMV counter, or restaurant, or whatever, but I don't feel worthy to have someone take their time for me. Something I constantly battle with. I go out of my way for others, but I can't take kindness in return most of the time.

I stay nervous the whole time when waiting for an appointment or to be called for my turn for almost anything, even positive things. But the nerves increase when "next." The nerves abate after I am on my feet and moving.

Moving in new directions.

Yes, especially at the border between US and Canada. I have absolutely nothing to be worried about and am doing nothing illegal, but waiting there has me in a sweat.

I do, there were problems with the printer when I got my drivers license renewed. I was secretly worried that they were going to tell me there was a mistake and I was never supposed to get a drivers license in the first place.

Made it to my maintenance weight of 125 pounds.

Even though I have reached goal. I still don't know everything about weight loss.

Yes, always. Comes from lack of confidence and feeling insecure.

I did my best today, tomorrow I will do even better.

I always get nervous at the dentist's office because I hate having my teeth worked on. And having to talk in front of a large group (or even a small one!) would freak me out.

I don't know what it is about being called at the Motor Vehicle Inspection,
or a staff status meeting, or even the doctor's/dentist's office
but I feel nervous when my name gets called....like it is a test ?

Even now...after having given presentations at meetings with large groups ...
I still get butterflies when my name gets called

WHAT IS THAT ?.....DO YOU GET NERVOUS..?
